Check out the full review of the new NEX e-mount 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 zoom lens.  This little lens turned in a pretty good performance, although not really much different overall  than the Sony DT 18-55mm kit lens.  The big differences are in build quality, focusing and handling.  The NEX zoom lenses have OSS, or optical steady shot, and will not need in-body sensor-shift type image stabilization.  Also new is a very quiet and smooth focusing motor, which helps mitigate focusing noise during movies.  This system is worlds ahead of the cheap and poorly implemented SAM, Sony should scrap that mess, and utilize this system immediately.

I’m still working on the NEX 5 camera review, and the NEX 16mm F/2.8 review, which should be ready in a week or two.
