Great deal on Adobe Lightroom 3.

If you want to ‘jack’ some of your picture colors without wrecking the rest of the colors, or fix the awful color casts as a result of HDR, Lightroom is a great way to do it.  It also supports distortion correction, ACR RAW conversions, converging verticals, (all great for architectural or Real Estate photography), and graduated color filters; great for making that sky stand out!  Many Landscape photographers use this software to make their pictures pop.   It’s actually easier to use than photoshop; I have both, and although PS does a lot of stuff, the smaller programs are usually more precise and easier to use.  Offer expires on the 14th.

Here’s another sale item you might want to check out, the Sigma 17-50mm F/2.8 OS HSM; I’m going to review this lens when I get some spare time.

Hmm…might you be reviewing that on the NEX-7 via LAEA2 to see how much the OS helps? That’d be awesome.

I might not be is more likely. Too many things in the pipeline right now.

      • Matthew Durr

        Likewise.

Just want to mention that the reason for the Lightroom 3 discount probably is the upcoming Lightroom 4 (a beta version was released a month ago or so).

  • Robert

Adobe has Lightroom 3 on sale for 50% off until Mar 5/11. That makes it about $10 more than the B&H deal, but at least the deal will be available after the B&H deal expires.

I can’t find any mention of the Lightroom 4 release pricing yet. Anyone know how that will be handled – if we buy now, will we get the LR4 upgrade for free? If it is another $90 to upgrade, I would rather wait…..

You can always download the trial version and see if it meets your needs. I wouldn’t be surprised if the upgrade would be free, I’m sure that info is out there someplace.

  • Michelle

    http://www.adorama.com has it for $79.95

  • Robert

Somebody at Adorma has screwed up. The regular price can’t be $99 for a full LR3 package.

They list the upgrade packages as well, so the listing seems legit. With shipping it is $110 for me…which is just not right. If I order, I bet I will get either an upgrade version, or else a note apologizing for the error…..

    • http://photojottings.com/ Kurt Munger

I think it’s an upgrade too based on the regular price.

  • Robert

Pricing for this product is changing faster than…..well, fast!

Adorma’s price has gone up to $135.

B&H’s price has dropped to $70. Yes, that is for the FULL version!

Be nice to our host, click on the “Lightroom” link in the text above, so he gets credit for referring you to B&H.

  • Robert

P.S. – the B&H price of $70 is for 24 hours only. I also received an email to this effect from B&H.

I really, really hope this includes a free upgrade to LR4…..

    • http://photojottings.com/ Kurt Munger

      This is weird.

  • Robert

The B&H price is back to $134.95, valid until Mar 5.
